As this 2015-2016 school year winds down, we’d like to take a moment to highlight all the efforts the Tisbury PTO has accomplished this year. It’s been a very busy and fun time for everyone involved!
In our Playground, we’ve replaced the swing seats and painted our swings sets Tisbury Blue. Most recently we bought soccer balls and put in place some new soccer nets in both playgrounds.
Our new Tisbury Tiger Logo was created. Kim Wells, our wonderful Tisbury parent, donated her time and designed three great logos, which were voted on by our teachers and students and our new Tiger Logo roared loud and won. You see it in use now on the Tiger Tales header and we will be using it on our merchandise. Check out the vests donated to our Tisbury School Staff!
A Parent Book Club was launched. We purchased 20 copies of “The Gift of Failure” and a group a great parents met on an winter evening to discuss and share our stories, a really valuable night for everyone.
Teachers’ Wish List – We answered many requests for classroom items for our teachers and purchased Books for 2nd Grade and Eggsperts for Grade 7/8.
We helped keep those winter clothes moving around our families at our Winter Clothes Grab, to keep our kids warm!
The Spring Carnival was great event to get us out of the house to enjoy tons of family fun games together! Thanks to students and parents who worked so hard to make this happen.
Tisbury Town Meeting & Vote Awareness – We played a crucial role in highlighting the need for voter participation in this year’s annual town meeting. We hosted an information night, created a flyer, set up text notification to our parents, and held banners on voting day. Our efforts paid off in a positive vote for our participation with MSBA in determining our schools future needs.
And our Teacher Appreciation Week with events planned everyday to recognize our appreciation of all the staffs’ incredible work during the year.
Some comments from our teachers include:
“The effort and thought that went into all the planning of events and purchases are over the top!”
“To the incredible PTO – Thank you so much for the incredible lunch that you all put on for us, you all did an amazing job and I thank you all.”
“Each year I think it can’t get any better, yet it does! Thank you for all the PTO does for our school and our staff.”
None of the above could have been accomplished without all of our volunteers time and effort, and the contributions made by many during our fundraising efforts each year. Coming up is our annual Box Top Drive (We get 10¢ for every box top you hand it and it really does add up! Last year we raised over $1,000) and also our Fun Run sponsorship. Last year we raised $3,800.
So thank you TISBURY PARENTS AND TEACHERS for making our TISBURY PTO the best!
